Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Studies, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution. A professional teaching qualification such as B.Ed., M.Ed., or an equivalent certification is preferred. 2–5 years of relevant teaching experience at the middle or secondary school level. Experience with international curricula such as the International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge Assessment International Education (IGCSE), or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be highly regarded. Proven expertise in lesson planning, designing formative and summative assessments, and implementing differentiated instructional strategies to support diverse learners. Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning methodologies and student-centred pedagogical practices. Familiarity with international curriculum frameworks, assessment standards, and best practices in Economics education will be an added advantage. Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate technology into teaching and learning to enhance student engagement and academic achievement.
1. Academic Instruction & Curriculum Delivery Deliver the Economics curriculum in alignment with school academic standards and prescribed curriculum frameworks. Plan and implement engaging, concept-driven lessons using varied pedagogical approaches such as discussions, case studies, simulations, research tasks, and digital learning tools. Ensure timely completion of the syllabus while maintaining academic rigor and depth of understanding. 2. Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring Design and administer formative and summative assessments, projects, and research-based evaluations. Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to support student growth and achievement. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, grades, and progress reports. 3. Classroom Management & Student Engagement Establish a structured, respectful, and inquiry-focused classroom environment. Promote positive behaviour, discipline, and academic integrity. Mentor and motivate students to achieve academic excellence and holistic development. 4. Documentation & Academic Compliance Prepare schemes of work, unit plans, lesson plans, and assessment documentation in accordance with school policies. Maintain systematic records related to curriculum delivery, assessment data, and student progress. Share regular academic updates and reports with the Head of Department (HOD) and academic coordinators. 5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with HODs, coordinators, and colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and the implementation of best teaching practices. Participate in parent-teacher meetings and communicate student progress through established school channels. Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives and cross-curricular learning opportunities. 6. School & Co-curricular Responsibilities Actively participate in school events, assemblies, house activities, field trips, and institutional programmes. Undertake responsibilities such as class teacher duties and examination invigilation as assigned. Support students in research projects, competitions, and other academic enrichment activities. 7. Professional Development & Reflective Practice Attend staff meetings, workshops, and professional development programmes. Engage in reflective teaching practices and contribute to continuous improvement in teaching and learning. 8.
