Job DESCRIPTION Job Title Assistant – Programme Implementation (Community Health Facilitator) Grade I Department Program &Policy Reporting to Project Lead Location Khed Block in Pune district, Maharashtra Contract duration 6 Months About Bal Raksha Bharat Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) is India's leading independent child rights organisation. ROLE PURPOSE BRB is going to implement the “ SPACES4IMPACT: Enabling Better Health and Learning Outcomes Project” To strengthen the quality and accessibility of essential health, nutrition, and WASH services across schools, and public health facilities by addressing critical infrastructure gaps, enhancing frontline capacities, and improving community-level service uptake. The Community Health Facilitator will coordinate community-based health, nutrition, and WASH interventions to improve access to essential health services, strengthen community awareness, and enhance linkages with government health systems. The Community Health Facilitator is responsible for the implementation of the project activities on the ground at the Khed Pune location. He will support the project lead to conduct all project activities. SCOPE OF ROLE Reports to: Project Lead Staff reporting to this post: No Budget Responsibilities: No Role Dimensions : Coordinate the repair, renovation, and construction of handwashing facilities and toilets in schools, ensuring quality implementation and functionality in collaboration with school authorities and local stakeholders. Support the infrastructure upgradation of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) and other public health facilities by coordinating with government departments, contractors, and technical teams. Facilitate the procurement, installation, and operationalization of essential medical equipment and Health Kiosks at selected health facilities, ensuring their effective utilization. Plan and coordinate village-level and school-based health camps, including beneficiary mobilization, logistics, specialist coordination, registration, referral services, and follow-up of identified cases. Coordinate the implementation of preventive health, nutrition, maternal health, and WASH awareness sessions in communities and schools. Organize and facilitate capacity-building programmes for frontline workers (ANMs, ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, and health staff) on Point-of-Care Diagnostics, including the Anandima ANC Screening Kit and other innovative health technologies. Support ANMs in the effective use of the Anandima ANC Screening Kit by providing field-level handholding, troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation. Strengthen Village Health and Nutrition Days (VHNDs) by promoting early pregnancy registration, completion of six ANC visits, PNC follow-up, maternal nutrition counselling, immunization, and timely referrals. Mobilize pregnant women, adolescents, caregivers, and community members to improve the utilization of government health and nutrition services. Conduct regular supportive supervision visits and joint monitoring visits with government stakeholders to assess service quality, identify implementation gaps, and recommend corrective actions. Organize district- and block-level advocacy and convergence meetings with Health, Women and Child Development, Panchayati Raj, and other relevant departments to strengthen programme ownership and inter-departmental coordination. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with PHCs, AAMs, District Health Officials, Block Medical Officers, ICDS functionaries, Panchayati Raj Institutions, and community-based organizations. Collect, verify, analyze, and report project data through the Management Information System (MIS), ensuring timely submission of monthly reports, case studies, success stories, and donor documentation. Ensure compliance with Bal Raksha Bharat policies, safeguarding standards, donor requirements, and government guidelines during project implementation. Graduate/Post-graduate degree in social sciences/Education diploma/ public health/ statistics or related discipline from a recognized university or college is essential; EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS · Working experience at similar level for at least 2-4 years. · >2 years in Education and community development area. Working experience in Education or the social sector would be an asset KEY COMPETENCIES · Good understanding of NGO and other sectors' involvement, understanding and capacities on child protection programming in the state. · Knowledge on RTE, Child rights, Education Strategy in Rural Maharashtra Teaching & Learning Methodology in Primary Schools & community level in Pune (Maharashtra) · Ability to plan and think strategically. · Excellent co-ordination and motivation skills · Demonstrable commitment to working with the school and community · Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multiple-line management environment. · Excellent coordination and motivation skills · Demonstrable commitment to quality of child safeguarding programming · Good analytical skills · Experience in report writing · Excellent command on English and Hindi, Marathi · Computer literate (word processing, spreadsheet, email) · Willingness to travel extensively in the state and outside as well, if required Additional job responsibilities The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience. CHILD SAFEGUARDING (Strike out whichever is not applicable) Level 1: The role holder will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore a police check will not be mandatory unless the content or location of the role changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level will be reviewed. Level 2: Either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation, Legal etc.); therefore a police check will be required . Level 3: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in programs; or are visiting programs; therefore a police check will be required .
