JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Assistant – Programme Implementation (Community Mobiliser) Grade I Department Programme and Policy Reporting to Project Coordinator Location Hyderabad(Telangana)/Pondicherry(Tamil Nadu) Contract Fixed Term Background: Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) is India’s leading independent child rights’ organisation, which works in 16 states of the country. Function: Programme & Policy covers Programme Implementation (with partners or direct implementation), Thematic Expertise (technical knowledge in areas of specialization), and Policy & Programme Impact (advocacy, research, monitoring & evaluation, and quality). The function links grass-roots work with policy changes at the highest level, and manages an ecosystem of partnerships including, but not limited to, community organizations, donors, peer organizations, academic institutions, media, and the state. Role Purpose: S/he will implement various interventions mentioned in the project. The key responsibility of the role would be to implement project activities in the target families, slums, AWC and schools. Also, this role required 6 days working in the field (only second and forth Saturday will be off) Role & responsibilities ( · S/he will be managed day-to-day activities on ground. · S/he will be responsible for the planning and execute the daily activities on the ground along with other project team members. · S/he will also support the Project Coordinator in training and project activities. · S/he will be responsible for supporting in documenting the process flow and participation and support of concerned government functionaries. · S/he would provide orientation to community, schools, AWCs and raise awareness and trust building about the project. · S/he would carry out and review community and school level assessments (HVCRA),Family preparedness including participatory vulnerability capacity assessment (PVCA) and school hazard hunt in the given intervention slums and schools and provide support in preparation of reports and other documents related to it · S/he would maintain regular communication with community, particularly women and children on community disaster risk reduction and household level resilience. · S/he would form and strengthen community and schools-based groups such as mothers’ group, children group, child protection committee, community level task force, school safety committee, school level task force, and mobilise and support trained APDA Mitra volunteers in conducting life-saving education sessions and regular community- and school-level mock drills · S/he would undertake appropriate additional responsibilities as assigned by the Project Coordinator. · S/he would facilitate community, school-based, AWC and family preparedness planning at slum,AWC,family and school level with the support of community and school-based groups, and support the rollout of Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPP) and Anticipatory Action Protocols (AAP) with District Disaster Management Authorities, including support for prepositioning and distribution of shelter, food, hygiene, education and winterization kits to disaster-affected families · S/he would document periodic progress, case studies of best practices etc of his/her assigned area and share with the Project Coordinator. · Timely collection and submission of all MIS-related information and data to Project Coordinator. · Submit work plan on a weekly/monthly basis to the Project Coordinator. · Submit monthly progress report to the Project Coordinator. Measures of Performance ( · Past experience in Disaster Management / Climate Change. · Quality and quantity of Project / Programme Implementation. · Efficiency and quality of reports /documents generated under the project. · Quality of PIP and compliance of work plan and cash flow. Candidate specification: Essential (Required) Desirable (Asset) Experience >-0 to 02 years of relevant experience in DRR/CCA/ fresher with Disaster Management degree or understanding on the subject at the community level and institutional level.

Knowledge Technical · Understanding of Hazard Vulnerability & Capacity Assessment, School Safety Policy and audit process. · Experience of community mobilization and stakeholder engagement at the ground level. · Understanding on PVCA and CCA intervention at the community level.
