The Role We are looking for a senior hands-on IT Infrastructure Specialist / Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer with 6–9 years of experience to serve as a senior technical anchor and escalation point within the Business IT team. Working closely with the Manager, Business IT, this role will take ownership of complex infrastructure, security, workplace, and studio-technology issues; lead technical projects; drive automation and operational improvements; and mentor junior IT team members. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with an ownership mindset and will be comfortable moving between hands-on troubleshooting, infrastructure design, security remediation, project execution, vendor coordination, and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure, Identity & Cloud • Take senior technical ownership of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, SSO/SAML, MFA, RBAC, Conditional Access, and identity-governance controls. • Review and improve Joiner-Mover-Leaver processes and access controls. • Design, implement, and maintain endpoint-management standards using Intune, JAMF, JumpCloud, Kaseya, or equivalent platforms. • Administer and improve Azure and AWS infrastructure including VMs, hybrid environments, access controls, monitoring, and cloud-security configurations. • Lead troubleshooting and improvement of DNS, DHCP, networking, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, and data-center environments. • Recommend infrastructure architecture and capacity improvements to the Manager, Business IT based on growth, reliability, security, and performance requirements. • Serve as the L2/L3 escalation point for complex infrastructure, endpoint, identity, networking, and application issues. Cybersecurity, Vulnerability Management & IP Protection • Own vulnerability remediation for site IT assets, prioritising findings based on severity, exposure, and business impact. • Track vulnerability ageing, exceptions, remediation timelines, and closure. • Implement and maintain endpoint/server-hardening baselines, encryption, EDR/XDR, tamper protection, patch compliance, and security configurations. • Operate and improve security platforms such as CrowdStrike, Sophos, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, or equivalent platforms. • Support SIEM monitoring, security-event investigation, and incident response. • Lead technical remediation resulting from VAPT, internal audits, external assessments, and client-security reviews. • Implement and maintain DLP, data segregation, least-privilege access, privileged-access restrictions, removable-media controls, and network segmentation. • Support client/project-specific security controls and isolation requirements. • Conduct periodic access reviews for critical systems and ensure inappropriate access is remediated. • Manage email security including phishing investigation, anti-spoofing, quarantine, transport rules, and security tooling. • Work with Engineering, Production, HR, Legal, and business stakeholders to protect client and company source code, game assets, documents, credentials, and intellectual property. Studio & Game Development Technology • Take senior technical ownership of studio IT infrastructure including Git/Perforce, Jenkins/TeamCity build servers, CI environments, shared storage, and related systems. • Work closely with Engineering teams to maintain performance and availability of source-control, build, storage, and development infrastructure. • Support high-performance developer and artist workstations and define technical standards for different user profiles. • Troubleshoot complex Unity, Unreal, Adobe, Autodesk, Houdini, GitHub Enterprise, Jira, and other studio-technology dependencies from an infrastructure perspective. • Recommend scalability, performance, storage, backup, and resiliency improvements as development teams and project requirements grow. IT Operations & Service Management • Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and complex technical issues. • Lead technical root-cause analysis and drive permanent corrective actions. • Improve Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Asset, and Configuration Management practices. • Monitor and report SLA, MTTA, MTTR, uptime, RTO, RPO, vulnerability closure, patch compliance, and other operational/security metrics. • Identify recurring incidents and implement technical or process improvements to eliminate root causes. • Maintain and improve SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams, configuration standards, application documentation, and knowledge articles. • Support and improve ITSM workflows, reporting, escalation models, and automation. Workplace, Physical Security & Office Infrastructure • Lead technical implementation for office expansion, network rollout, Wi-Fi, racks, switching, firewalls, conference-room technology, and workplace IT projects. • Provide technical ownership for HID/access-control systems, CCTV, visitor-management integrations, and physical-security technology. • Support Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, meeting rooms, AV infrastructure, and executive technology requirements. • Manage domains, DNS, MX records, TLS certificates, and associated infrastructure. • Ensure new locations and expanded office areas meet agreed IT, security, availability, and capacity standards. Assets, Procurement & Vendor Management • Own technical evaluation of hardware, software, infrastructure, and security solutions. • Support the Manager, Business IT with vendor selection, technical comparisons, procurement decisions, and contract/SLA evaluation. • Escalate vendor performance issues and drive technical resolution. • Maintain standards for hardware/software lifecycle, upgrades, warranty, licensing, compliance, secure disposal, and refresh planning. • Review license utilization and identify opportunities for consolidation or cost optimisation. Automation & Improvement • Develop PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, or similar automation to reduce repetitive administration and manual error. • Automate onboarding/offboarding, compliance checks, reporting, ticketing, asset workflows, and routine operational activities where practical. • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, user experience, and IT operating efficiency. Team Contribution & Mentoring • Mentor Site IT Service Specialist I and other junior IT team members. • Provide technical guidance, peer review, troubleshooting support, and knowledge transfer. • Help establish standards for troubleshooting, documentation, escalation, and service quality. • Support the Manager, Business IT in capability development and continuous improvement of the IT team. • Act as the senior technical point of contact when the Manager, Business IT requires escalation or technical assessment. Required Skills & Experience • 6–9 years of hands-on experience across IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, security, and end-user IT. • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Azure, and/or AWS. • Strong endpoint-management experience with Intune, JAMF, JumpCloud, Kaseya, or equivalent platforms. • Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls, switching, identity, and hybrid infrastructure. • Experience with EDR/XDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, patch management, security hardening, encryption, and email security. • Experience troubleshooting complex issues across endpoint, identity, network, cloud, application, and infrastructure layers. • Good understanding of DLP, least privilege, network segmentation, privileged access, and IP protection. • Experience leading infrastructure or security projects from planning through implementation and operational handover. • Strong working knowledge of ITSM and Incident/Problem/Change Management. • Experience with backup, restore, disaster recovery, or business continuity processes. • Working knowledge of PowerShell or another scripting/automation language. • Strong documentation, stakeholder-management, and communication skills. • Ability to remain hands-on while guiding and mentoring junior technical staff.
