Job description

HUMAN CAPITAL

The Human Capital Offering Portfolio focuses on helping organizations manage and sustain their performance through their most important asset: their people. Centered on five core issues, this Portfolio signifies to the market that we see Human Capital as a topic critical to the C-Suite. As we go-to-market we will show our clients that we serve more than HR organizations – from the CEO to CFO, Risk Manager to Business Unit leader—and that we deliver on our issues and help create value for our clients.

Looking for a world of opportunities and a fulfilling career?

Position :Operations Associate Vice President

This is a senior leadership role within Deloitte's Human Capital Offering Portfolio, anchored in India and focused on delivering world-class Multi-Process HR Outsourcing (MPHRO) services to US-based and global clients. The incumbent will serve as the strategic and operational backbone of India-based full hire-to-retire lifecycle services.

This role goes beyond HR leadership — it is a C-Suite-facing position that bridges the operational depth of India delivery centers with the commercial and regulatory complexities of the market. You will shape how Deloitte's operations evolve as a center of excellence for HR and Payroll Outsourcing, leveraging technology, talent, and process innovation to drive measurable client value.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-impact practice at the intersection of global delivery, cutting-edge HR technology, and the world's largest HR outsourcing market. You will shape how a world-class delivery organization serves clients — not just operationally, but strategically — driving transformation that matters at scale.

Work you’ll do:

  • Strategic Foresight & Thought Leadership: Drive the long-term vision for India-based MPHRO delivery, providing thought leadership on agentic AI, RPA, and GenAI integration. Advise US clients on leveraging India delivery as a strategic advantage beyond cost arbitrage.
  • Go-to-Market & Pricing Strategy: Architect go-to-market strategies and commercial models for US clients, lead end-to-end pursuit activities (RFP/RFI to contract closure), and develop differentiated service bundles that showcase India's delivery strengths — 24/7 support, multilingual capabilities, and deep technology talent.
  • HR Services Transition & Transformation: Lead zero-disruption transitions of clients' HR and payroll functions. Develop transition playbooks, SOPs, and hyper care frameworks, and drive process reengineering beyond lift-and-shift from day one.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build trusted advisor relationships at the CHRO, CFO, and COO levels. Lead executive business reviews, manage escalations, and identify opportunities for scope expansion and contract renewal.
  • Program Delivery & Risk Management: Govern end-to-end MPHRO delivery across the hire-to-retire spectrum. Monitor SLAs, KPIs, and CSAT scores while maintaining a robust risk and controls framework covering cross-border data privacy, business continuity, and information security.
  • People Leadership & Talent Development: Lead and inspire large, multi-tiered delivery teams across India, defining talent strategies — hiring, capability building, succession planning, and retention — while championing a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications Required:

Over 15+ years of experience setting up or managing MPHRO Service Centers or Global Capability Centers (GCC) that provided hire-to-retire functions processing.

10+ years of experience in selling and delivering MPHRO and multilingual support services.

Prior experience working with or within a Big 4 or Tier-1 HR outsourcing firm (Accenture, IBM, Conduent, ADP TotalSource, etc.).

Exposure to HR analytics, workforce intelligence platforms, and data-driven HR service delivery models.

Extensive experience in driving pursuits, architecting solutions for pursuits and providing market intel

Extensive experience with using assorted HR Shared Service technologies related to document management, chatbots and virtual assistants, translation services, employee engagement platforms, telephony, and case management.

Extensive Knowledge in US payroll, including payroll inputs, processing, outputs, pre-payroll activities, data validation, payroll processing, and post-payroll steps.

Commitment to excellence, high standards, and demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates.

Familiarity with two or more major HR and payroll SaaS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Fusion, Workday, ADP Global View, Ceridian, etc.) and HR Shared Service technologies.

Broad knowledge across core HR, HCM data, time and leave management, benefits administration, and related HR sub-processes.

Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and motivate high performing payroll operations teams

Deep familiarity with the nuances of delivering HR services across US time zones from India, including managing follow-the-sun models and overlap-hour strategies.

Broad functional knowledge across core HR sub-processes: talent acquisition operations, onboarding, employee data management, benefits administration, time and attendance, leave management, offboarding, and compliance reporting.
