We are working towards three breakthroughs in how the world treats children by 2030: · No child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday · All children learn from a quality basic education and · Violence against children is no longer tolerated We run programmes in the remotest corners of India and urban areas in the areas of Health & Nutrition, Education, Child Protection and Livelihood & Economic Wellbeing in order to facilitate quality education, healthcare and protection from harm and abuse and life-saving aid during emergencies to children ROLE PURPOSE The community mobiliser will be responsible for engaging with community members, identifying vulnerable household and girls, facilitates awareness activities and ensuring effective implementation of project interventions at the community level. The role focuses on building trust and strengthening community participation in the project activities. SCOPE OF ROLE Scope: The person will be responsible for mobilization of project stakeholder including girls, families, community people and other relevant stakeholders and conducting planned activities Reports to: Assistant Manager -PIU Staff reporting to this post: No Budget Responsibilities: No Role Dimensions : Context: Development KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY The key area of accountability required will be as follows: - Conduct regular field visits to identify and engage with girls, adolescents, young women, families and key stakeholders - Mobilize community members to participate in project activities, trainings, events - Facilitate meetings with community groups, parents and local leaders - Enrollment of girls, adolescents and women (aged 3-20 years) in GRC. - Ensure the safety of young girls while they are coming to centre and going back to home. - Ensure implementation of planned activities and community level engagements as per plan - Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops. - Identify local level partners, support and facilitate the partnership in the implementation of planned activities. - Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories on monthly, quarterly and annually. - Document success stories, field observations, challenges, best practices and share with the line manager - Support in collection and submission of all MIS related information and data, maintain records of community visits, household data and enrolments - Support in conducting sessions on menstrual hygiene, child rights, cyber security, Climate change, facilitate enrolment of eligible young girls in the Vocational Training institutes, distribution of education to the girls (3-14 years) & distribution of menstrual hygiene kits to the adolescent girls and young women - Coordinate with schools and facilitate the transition of children from centre to school - Submit monthly progress report to the line manager. - Responsible to achieve the desired mobilization target - Any other task assigned by the line manager BEHAVIOURS (Values in Practice ) Accountability S/he should be accountable towards evaluating his/her performance or behavior related to work/community/children/society for which s/he is responsible. 12 th pass/Graduate in social work or in any discipline from a recognized university or school EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS · Minimum 2-3 years of experience in development sector with experience of working with children, youth, AWCs/ School/ Community/Government Stakeholders. Experience working in urban poor settlements, JJ clusters. Female candidates with the requisite experience are requested to apply. Only Shortlisted candidates will be for the interview. CHILD SAFEGUARDING (Strike out whichever is not applicable) Level 1: The role holder will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore a police check will not be mandatory unless the content or location of the role changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level will be reviewed. Level 2: Either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation, Legal etc.); therefore a police check will be required . Level 3: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in programs; or are visiting programs; therefore a police check will be required .
