Job Description – Project Engineer (Solar & PM-KUSUM)
Position: Project Engineer
Department: Projects
Experience: 1–3 Years preferred
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Electrical, Renewable Energy or related field
Location: Ahmedabad
Job Summary
We are looking for a Project Engineer with practical knowledge of Solar PV and PM-KUSUM Solar Water Pump projects . The candidate will handle site surveys, technical assessment, project execution, installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct solar PV and PM-KUSUM solar pump site surveys .
Assess site feasibility, shading, land/roof area, borewell, water source, pump requirements and electrical infrastructure.
Check pump capacity, head, discharge, pipeline and cable requirements.
Prepare site survey reports, measurements, photographs and technical documentation .
Understand solar modules, inverters, pump controllers, motors, structures, cables, earthing and protection systems.
Read and understand SLDs and electrical drawings .
Assist in BOQ/BOM, system sizing and material planning.
Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning at project sites.
Coordinate with customers/farmers, contractors, vendors and DISCOM/department officials.
Identify and resolve site-level technical issues.
Ensure quality, safety and timely project execution .
Travel to project sites as required.
Required Skills & Eligibility
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Renewable Energy or related field .
1–3 years of experience in solar/PM-KUSUM projects preferred .
Good practical knowledge of solar panels and solar water pumping systems .
Ability to independently conduct site surveys and prepare reports.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, SLDs and solar system components.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Willingness to travel extensively to project sites is mandatory.
Valid driving licence will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate
Candidates with hands-on PM-KUSUM Solar Pump experience and experience dealing with farmers, site surveys, installation and commissioning will be given preference.
