Job Description for Principal – Allied Health Sciences College Job Title: Principal Department: Allied Health Sciences Location: [cheran allied health and science coimbatore] Position Summary The Principal of the Allied Health Sciences College is the chief academic and administrative officer responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, academic excellence, regulatory compliance, faculty development, student success, and institutional growth. The Principal ensures adherence to standards prescribed by regulatory authorities such as the Indian Nursing Council, State Nursing Council, UGC, AICTE, or other relevant statutory bodies. Key Responsibilities 1. Academic Leadership Provide vision and leadership for academic excellence in allied health programs. Ensure curriculum implementation as per affiliating university and regulatory body guidelines. Promote innovative teaching methodologies and research culture. Oversee examination processes and academic quality assurance. 2. Administration & Governance Supervise daily operations of the institution. Develop institutional policies in alignment with statutory norms. Lead strategic planning and institutional development initiatives. Represent the institution before regulatory authorities and accreditation bodies. 3. Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance Ensure compliance with guidelines from: Indian Nursing Council National Medical Commission NAAC State Government / University norms Prepare and coordinate inspections, audits, and accreditation processes. Maintain statutory records and documentation. 4. Faculty & Staff Management Recruit qualified faculty and support staff as per norms. Conduct performance evaluations and professional development programs. Encourage research publications, seminars, and workshops. 5. Student Affairs Ensure student discipline, welfare, and grievance redressal. Monitor academic progress and mentorship systems. Promote clinical exposure and placement opportunities. 6. Financial & Infrastructure Oversight Prepare and monitor institutional budgets. Ensure optimal utilization of resources. Oversee maintenance of laboratories, libraries, simulation labs, and clinical training facilities. 7. Industry & Clinical Collaboration Establish MoUs with hospitals and healthcare institutions. Strengthen partnerships for clinical postings and internships. Promote community outreach and extension programs. Eligibility Criteria (May vary based on regulatory requirements) Master’s Degree in Allied Health Sciences (M.Sc. Nursing or equivalent). Ph.D. in Nursing / Allied Health Sciences (preferred or mandatory as per norms). Minimum 10–15 years of teaching experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Valid registration with State Nursing Council. Experience with accreditation processes (e.g., NAAC).
