Position Details Position: AutoCAD Draughts-man / Engineer Job Title: Design Engineer Location: Pune Role & Responsibilities 1. Electrical Design & Drafting Prepare comprehensive wiring diagrams for electrical equipment, power substations, and residential and commercial buildings based on project objectives, design information, and engineering specifications. Utilize AutoCAD to create engineering drawings, including standard arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and riser diagrams, from rough sketches or general design information. Prepare advanced-complexity 2D CAD drawings for electrical and PLC panel packages while ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures. 2. Technical Review & Quality Assurance Ensure final technical drawings contain all relevant information in a clear and easy-to-read format. Verify the accuracy of calculations, measurements, and units based on initial design inputs. Perform drawing checks to confirm accuracy and compliance with applicable drafting standards and specifications. Prepare as-built drawings, Bills of Material (BOM), and ferrule lists while ensuring all client comments are appropriately addressed. 3. Collaboration & Coordination Coordinate designs and drawings with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of systems. Coordinate with vendors to obtain technical information and integrate components into system designs. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers by contributing ideas, preparing rough sketches, and adapting designs based on verbal or written instructions. 4. Electrical Systems & Documentation Prepare conduit and cable schedules, riser diagrams, and installation drawings for electrical equipment. Create electrical and PLC panel drawing packages corresponding to manufactured or installed assemblies, including I/O points. Develop and document installation and arrangement drawings for various equipment. Job Skills & Qualifications Qualification ITI / Diploma / Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics. An Associate Degree/Diploma in Drafting or CAD will be an added advantage. Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Good understanding of electrical circuitry and electrical design. Ability to prepare complex electrical system drawings from sketches using appropriate symbols, terminology, procedures, and drafting standards. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Other Skills Willingness and ability to learn and master new software tools required to enhance design work. Ability to understand engineering requirements and convert design concepts, sketches, and instructions into accurate technical drawings. Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, vendors, and project teams.
