Sr Engineer/ Engineer – Substation (Electrical) Department: Design and Technical Reporting To: Project Manager / Site In charge Location: Karnataka (Project Site – Deputation Basis) Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary The Engineer – Substation (Electrical) will be responsible for execution, installation, testing, and commissioning support of EHV substation equipment and systems across project sites in Karnataka. Key Responsibilities Understand, read and explaining the electrical design, layout drawing. Supervision of erection activities and installation of transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CT/PT, and panels Understand and read cable schedule and execution of cable laying, termination, and testing activities Ensure compliance with approved SLDs, layout drawings, and project specifications Coordinate with civil teams for foundation readiness and equipment placement Support testing and commissioning activities Maintain quality and safety standards at site Prepare progress and inspection reports Qualification & Experience Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering 4–8 years of experience in 132kV / 220kV / 400kV substations Experience in erection, testing, and commissioning of switch yard equipment Technical Competencies Ability to interpret SLDs and electrical drawings Knowledge of protection and control systems Familiarity with EHV switch yard equipment Understanding of safety and quality standards Behavioral Competencies Detail-oriented and quality-focused Good coordination skills Strong troubleshooting capability Ability to manage contractors effectively
