What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead Software Engineer

Evolent is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to be a key contributor in building scalable, secure, and high-performance healthcare applications. This role requires strong technical expertise along with the ability to lead design and development efforts, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using ASP.NET MVC, Web forms, .NET Core, C#, and SQL Server

Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, and production support

Architect scalable and secure solutions by applying design patterns and principles

Provide technical leadership to the team, conduct design/code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards

Collaborate with product owners, QA, and other stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality features

Drive performance optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Contribute to modernization initiatives including migration to cloud-native or microservices-based architectures

Identify and recommend new technologies and tools to improve system performance, scalability, and developer productivity

Participate in deployment, release management, and production stability improvements

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture

Required Qualifications

6–8 years of experience in software development

Strong hands-on experience with: ASP.NET / .NET Core

C#

SQL Server

Azure resources (functions, storage, keyvalut, App Config, App insights)

Solid understanding of: Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

Design patterns & Principles (SOLID, etc.)

Software engineering best practices

Experience in building scalable web applications and APIs

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment

Experience with code reviews, CI/CD, and version control systems (Git)

Good to Have

Experience in application modernization / legacy transformation

Exposure to microservices architecture, cloud (Azure), or distributed systems

Knowledge of healthcare domain / EMR / payer systems

Experience with performance tuning and security practices

Soft Skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to lead technical discussions and influence decisions

Proactive mindset with focus on ownership and delivery excellence

As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
