Job description

Roles and Responsibilities As a Flight Mechanics Engineer (verification and validation), the following work area and skill sets awaits you: 1. Aircraft Flight Mechanics & Dynamics Test the 6-DOF nonlinear aircraft flight-dynamics models to their Develop mathematical models for aircraft rigid-body dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, actuators, landing gear, and environmental effects. Perform aircraft trim, stability, control, and performance analyses across the flight envelope. Determine and analyse aerodynamic derivatives, stability derivatives, control derivatives, and propulsion characteristics. Perform longitudinal, lateral, and directional stability and controllability assessments. Analyse control-system performance, stability margins, actuator utilisation, and control authority. Run Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) iron-bird, and flight-test simulations. Compare simulation results against flight test or analytical data and generate reports. Design test cases, write test scripts and verification procedures etc.. 2. Modelling & Simulation Develop and maintain testing environments using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, or equivalent tools. Test and mature the aircraft, propulsion, actuator, sensor, environment, and flight-control models. Perform model correlation against wind-tunnel, component-test, ground-test, and flight-test data. Establish model validation processes. Evolve aircraft response characteristics such as Time constants, Natural frequencies, Control response, Hover and transition response etc. Develop and simulate failure, fault, and degraded-mode scenarios. Support FHA, FMEA, FTA, SSA, and system safety activities from a flight-dynamics perspective. 3. Flight-Test & Data Analysis Analyse flight-test data and correlate simulation predictions with actual aircraft behaviour. Investigate discrepancies between simulation, ground-test, and flight-test results. 4. Certification & Technical Documentation Support preparation of engineering analyses and compliance evidence as per certification requirements. Prepare technical reports, analysis notes, model documentation, simulation reports, and verification evidence. Requirements Required Qualifications (Must-Haves) Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in testing of flight mechanics, dynamics, simulation and control system. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering/ Aeronautical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Controls Engineering or a related discipline. Strong understanding of Aircraft 6-DOF equations of motion, Aerodynamics, Flight dynamics, Stability and control, Aircraft performance, Propulsion, Control systems, Numerical modelling and simulation Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink. Good programming skills in Python and/or C/C++. Experience with testing and validation methods, data analysis, and engineering simulations. Ability to interpret aerodynamic, propulsion, and flight-test data. Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Haves) Experience in one or more of the following will be highly desirable: eVTOL / VTOL, UAV / UAS Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation Real-time simulation Flight-test engineering System identification Wind-tunnel testing DO-178C / DO-254 environments Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Benefits The opportunity to work on a groundbreaking product that will redefine urban transportation. A dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative work environment with a brilliant and passionate team. Competitive salary and benefits. A culture of innovation where your ideas can directly impact the future of flight.
