To design, maintain, test and continuously improve the organization's Disaster Recovery and technical resilience capabilities by ensuring that critical systems, applications and infrastructure can be restored within agreed Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) enabling uninterrupted business operations during disruptive events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES –

  • Disaster Recovery Planning & Documentation
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs), recovery runbooks, standard operating procedures, and recovery handbooks for business-critical systems and applications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of recovery procedures, dependencies, escalation paths, and ownership details.
  • Ensure DR documentation remains current and aligned with infrastructure and application changes.

Recovery Strategy & Governance

  • Define, document, and validate Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Assess recovery capabilities against business requirements and recommend improvements where gaps exist.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to Technical Disaster Recovery.

Business Impact Analysis (BIA)

  • Facilitate and conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) across business units.
  • Identify critical business services, application dependencies, infrastructure components, and recovery priorities.
  • Document recovery requirements, acceptable downtime, and operational impact assessments.

DR Testing & Validation

  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute Disaster Recovery drills, tabletop exercises, failover tests, and full-scale recovery exercises.
  • Validate recovery procedures and system recoverability against established RTO and RPO objectives.
  • Document test results, identify gaps, track remediation activities, and ensure closure of action items.
  • Produce management reports highlighting readiness status and improvement opportunities.

Infrastructure & Application Recovery Management

  • Understand and document backup infrastructure, replication technologies, failover clustering, high-availability architectures, and cloud-based recovery environments.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Database, Security, Cloud, and Application teams to validate recovery processes.
  • Ensure infrastructure & application recovery procedures are accurate, tested and recoverable during DR scenarios.
  • Maintain inventory of critical systems, dependencies, recovery tiers, and recovery sequences.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Engage with technology and business stakeholders to gather information required for DR planning and testing.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews to ensure recovery documentation remains current and aligned to system changes.
  • Act as a central point of contact for DR program activities and recovery exercises.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen organizational resilience.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Disaster Recovery Analyst to support and enhance the organization's Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity capabilities. The role will be responsible for developing, maintaining and validating disaster recovery plans, conducting recovery exercises, performing Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and ensuring the recoverability of critical business applications and infrastructure.

Candidate should possess strong technical expertise across datacenter infrastructure, cloud environments, application architectures, backup and recovery technologies and business continuity processes. This role requires close collaboration with infrastructure, network, security, application, and business stakeholders to maintain an effective and audit-ready DR program.

Key Responsibilities

Disaster Recovery Planning & Documentation

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

4-7 years of experience in Technical Disaster Recovery, IT Infrastructure, or related technical roles.

Proven experience creating and maintaining DR plans, runbooks, and recovery documentation.

Demonstrated experience conducting DR tests, failover exercises, and Business Impact Analyses.

Required Technical Skills

Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery frameworks and methodologies.

In-depth knowledge of datacenter infrastructure including: Servers (Windows/Linux)

Storage systems

Networking

Virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)

High Availability and Clustering technologies

Strong understanding of application architectures and application dependency mapping.

Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, or equivalent.

Experience with replication technologies and cloud recovery solutions (Azure Site Recovery, AWS DR services, etc.).

Familiarity with business continuity concepts, recovery planning, and risk management.

Understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

Desired Qualifications

CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional)

ISO 22301 Business Continuity certification

ITIL Foundation Certification

Microsoft Azure, AWS, or VMware certifications

Experience supporting enterprise-scale DR programs across multiple geographies
