Vice President, Orange Movement - India

Job description
About the Orange Movement
Launched in 2022, the Orange Movement™ is a global initiative led by IIX Global to integrate gender equality and climate action into financial markets. At its core are Orange Bonds™ — the world's first gender-lens and climate-focused asset class — designed to.
Mobilize US$15 billion in capital markets by 2030
Positively impact 150 million women, girls, and gender minorities
Position women and gender minorities as leaders in climate resilience and adaptation
The Orange Movement advances this vision through capital mobilization, policy reform, global partnerships, training, and advocacy. With US$2 billion already mobilized and a new US$1 billion Orange Climate Fund anchoring a US$10 billion cooperation agreement with the Government of Indonesia, the Movement is entering a pivotal scale-up phase — with an active co-funder base, formalized governance infrastructure, and the Orange Forum as its flagship annual convening. IIX seeks a Senior Director who can build the Movement into an institution with the financial strength, governance maturity, and operating capability to stand on its own for the long termLaunched in 2022, the Orange Movement™ is a global initiative led by IIX Global to integrate gender equality and climate action into financial markets. About the role
The Vice President, Membership & Commercial Partnerships owns the Orange Movement’s membership growth: signing, onboarding, and retaining the fee-paying members and commercial partners that fund the Movement’s work. This is a revenue role. You will lead the founding-member campaign, shape the membership model with the Head of Orange Movement, and build a pipeline of financial institutions, corporates, DFIs, and other organizations across Asia and beyond.
Grant funding, event sponsorship, and governance sit with a separate lead, so this role is focused entirely on fee-paying members and commercial partners. You will work closely with that lead, the Europe lead, and IIX’s Innovative Finance team, which leads Orange Bond structuring and labelling.
Key Responsibilities
Founding-Member Campaign & Membership Growth
Build and manage a qualified pipeline of prospective members across financial institutions, corporates, DFIs, foundations, and ecosystem organizations
Lead pitches, negotiate membership terms, and close founding and new members against annual revenue targets
Convert existing Orange Movement partners into paying members where there is a fit
Cover Southeast Asia directly and coordinate member pipelines brought in by regional leads
Membership Model & Value Proposition
Design membership tiers, pricing, and benefits with the Head of Orange Movement
Test and refine the value proposition based on member feedback and market response
Package convening, working-group participation, research, and training into clear member benefits
Commercial Partnerships
Structure fee-based commercial partnerships (for example paid training, data, or program partnerships) that fit the membership model
Package member benefits with IIX teams, including the IIX Institute, Research, and Innovative Finance
Retention & Member Experience
Own renewals and member retention, supported by the membership operations team
Run structured member onboarding and regular account reviews
Track member satisfaction and act on churn risks early
Performance & Reporting
Report monthly on pipeline, closed revenue, and renewals
Maintain accurate records in the membership CRM
Contribute to the Movement's annual business plan and revenue forecasts
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Skills
8–12 years in business development, partnerships, or membership roles
Proven track record of selling paid memberships, sponsorships, or fee-based partnerships — not only grant fundraising
Existing network among financial institutions, corporates, or DFIs in Asia, ideally Southeast Asia
Comfortable owning a revenue number and being measured against it
Strong negotiation, presentation, and written communication skills
Experience working with a CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
Experience at a membership network, alliance, chamber of commerce, or industry association
Exposure to sustainable finance, impact investing, or gender-lens investing
Familiarity with the Orange Bond Initiative or gender bond markets
Experience building a membership or sponsorship program from an early stage
Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia or another Asian language is an advantage
The Person
Visionary and entrepreneurial — able to push system-level change while operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Resilient, with the credibility and presence to build trust across DFIs, governments, UN agencies, and Fortune 500s
Equally comfortable setting strategy and doing the hands-on work of standing up the operating backbone a growing coalition needs
