It underpins quoting, billing, subscription management, and payment orchestration across every Atlassian product and customer segment. As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will drive mission-critical technical programs across our core Commerce Platform, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Finance, and Go-To-Market teams to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade capabilities. Responsibilities Analyze business objectives, enterprise customer needs, and architectural bottlenecks to define the long-term technical strategy and multi-year roadmaps for core Commerce systems (e.g., billing engine, quoting/CPQ, subscriptions, and platform APIs). Translate complex quote-to-cash business models and compliance/financial requirements into clear, prioritized technical system problems and architecture roadmaps. Define and lead high-impact, cross-organizational technical programs (e.g., enterprise billing modernization, legacy platform migrations, high availability, and SOX/financial controls). Partner with and influence Principal Engineers, Architects, and Engineering Directors to shape system flows, API designs, and scalable platform integrations. Lead cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Billing Ops, and GTM to ensure seamless execution and risk mitigation. Drive operational excellence and predictable delivery across multi-quarter programs with structured governance, transparent metrics, and dependency management. Mentor and elevate the Technical Program Management craft across the Commerce organization.
