A Technical Project Manager (TPM) leads the end-to-end delivery of complex software projects, acting as the bridge between business, architecture, and engineering teams. The role combines strong technical understanding, project management, and stakeholder communication. Role & Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of technically complex software projects. Translate business requirements into actionable features, user stories, specifications, and delivery plans. Manage scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, issues, and technical deliverables. Coordinate architects, technical leads, developers, QA, DevOps, business analysts, and other stakeholders. Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. Establish and maintain project plans, milestones, release plans, and delivery status. Ensure requirements, architecture, development, testing, and deployment remain aligned. Coordinate technical design and architecture reviews with the Technical Lead. Drive requirements traceability and documentation throughout the SDLC. Support adoption of Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Git-based development practices. Track technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, and architectural decisions. Coordinate SIT, UAT, production readiness, releases, and post-release activities. Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and decisions to management and stakeholders. Ensure adherence to engineering, security, quality, and delivery standards. Facilitate resolution of cross-team technical and delivery issues. Technical Skills Strong understanding of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, React.js, TypeScript, SQL, and microservices. Good understanding of software architecture and distributed systems. Understanding of API-first and event-driven architectures. Understanding of cloud, containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and CI/CD. Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes. Experience with Git/GitHub and modern development practices. Knowledge of Spec-Driven Development / GitHub Spec Kit is an advantage. Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and DevOps practices. Strong technical documentation and communication skills. Ability to review architecture and technical designs and communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience 10+ years of overall IT/software engineering experience. 5+ years in technical project/program management or technical delivery management. Experience managing enterprise application development projects involving multiple technical teams. Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams. Experience managing distributed or cross-functional development teams. Experience with end-to-end SDLC from requirements through production deployment. Experience working with enterprise clients and senior stakeholders. Experience in architecture-led or modernization projects is preferred.
