Job description
Purpose
The SAP PP/QM Tester is responsible for validating and ensuring the quality of SAP Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM) solutions within a manufacturing environment. The role involves preparing test scenarios, executing test cycles, identifying defects, and supporting SAP S/4HANA implementation projects to ensure business requirements are met and processes function as designed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in SAP S/4HANA implementation and testing activities for PP and QM modules.
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and process designs for manufacturing operations.
- Design, prepare, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test data for PP and QM processes.
- Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and End-to-End process validation.
- Validate manufacturing processes including:
o Material Master
o Bill of Materials (BOM)
o Routings
o Work Centers
o Production Orders
o MRP
o Demand Management
o Quality Inspection
o Quality Notifications
o Batch Management
- Testing Skills required –
o Functional Testing
Integration Testing
End-to-End Business Process Testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Regression Testing
Defect Management and Tracking
Test Scenario, Test Case & Test Script Preparation
Test Data Creation and Validation
Defect Retesting and Closure
Cutover and Go-Live Validation
Log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools.
- Collaborate with Functional Consultants, Business Users, Developers, and Integration Teams to resolve issues.
- Support data validation and reconciliation activities during migration and cutover phases.
- Prepare test execution reports and provide status updates to project stakeholders.
- Support hyper care and post-go-live validation activities.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and testing best practices.
- Exposure of SAP FIORI Applications
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Experience
2 to 3 years of SAP testing experience with focus on SAP PP and QM modules. Mandatory experience in at least one SAP S/4HANA implementation project within a manufacturing industry. Experience in Functional, Integration, and UAT testing.
Other Attributes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of manufacturing processes. Ability to document and execute test cases effectively. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Physical Requirements
Remote
Occasionally travel as required.
Preferred Requirements
Education
Master's degree or SAP Certification preferred.
Experience
Experience with SAP Solution Manager, ALM, JIRA or other testing tools. Exposure to MES, EWM, MM, or SD integration.
Other Attributes
SAP S/4HANA certification in PP or QM. Knowledge of automated testing tools is an advantage.
