Overview

The Executive Director, Global Commercial Proleukin leads the global Proleukin business and sets its long-range strategy and operating priorities for the United States and international markets, including licensed and unlicensed countries. The role is accountable for business performance and coordinates commercial plans with Clinical, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, and regional teams to support growth, customer needs, reliable supply, and compliance.

The Executive Director advises senior leaders on business results, major risks, spending priorities, and growth opportunities and represents Proleukin in leadership reviews and decision-making forums. The role requires sound judgment in a highly regulated environment, strong scientific knowledge, and a clear understanding of the market for oncology therapies, including hospital-administered products. The Executive Director also determines staffing needs, develops leaders, supports succession planning, and sets clear expectations for team performance and collaboration.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Set and communicate the global commercial strategy, priorities, and performance measures for Proleukin

Own profit-and-loss performance and advise senior leaders on business results, spending priorities, risks, and growth opportunities

Make decisions on inventory, distribution, market priorities, budgets, staffing, and business risks

Own annual and quarterly revenue forecasts, expense budgets, planning assumptions, and spending recommendations

Oversee distribution and inventory to meet demand, manage cost, and maintain supply

Set performance measures and use customer data and business analysis to guide decisions and address performance issues

Lead global business and customer planning, including account coverage, customer groups, distribution, forecasting, and short- and long-range plans

Coordinate commercial strategy with Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Legal, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and regional teams and represent the business in leadership reviews and strategic planning meetings

Partner with the Vice President of Sales to align commercial strategy, field priorities, training, and performance expectations

Partner with U.S. and Global Market Access leaders to plan for reimbursement changes and address barriers to patient access

Set direction and approve marketing plans and materials, ensuring they support the brand strategy and meet compliance requirements

Lead annual and long-range commercial planning, including key choices, budget recommendations, planning assumptions, and business reviews

Assess and recommend product lifecycle, access, distribution, partnership, and business development opportunities

Guide engagement with clinicians, providers, payers, patient advocates, and other external groups

Guide advocacy, policy, and patient support plans in line with business, access, and compliance requirements

Determine team structure and staffing needs, develop leaders, support succession planning, and hold teams accountable for results

Oversee external partners and ensure their work meets quality, cost, timing, and business requirements

Identify and address commercial, operational, financial, supply, legal, regulatory, medical, privacy, and promotional risks

Follow Iovance Biotherapeutics’ values, policies, procedures, ethics standards, and compliance requirements

Travel

May require up to 40% travel based on business need

Key Qualifications

Ability to set direction, weigh tradeoffs, and make decisions that support long-term business goals

Clear, credible communication with senior leaders and external audiences

Sound judgment in complex, uncertain, and highly regulated situations

Experience managing profit and loss, budgets, forecasts, investments, and business risks

Ability to lead change, build effective teams, develop employees, and plan for future leadership needs

Experience leading work across countries, regions, and functions, including teams outside the role’s direct reporting line

Ability to use scientific, market, customer, operating, and financial information to make clear decisions and plans

Strong negotiation, partnership, communication, and relationship-management skills

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge

Bachelor’s degree required

Fifteen or more years of increasing commercial leadership responsibility in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including experience with complex businesses, global or multi-market plans, financial results, and cross-functional teams

Experience leading a business unit, established brand, global portfolio, or similarly complex commercial operation with direct financial responsibility

Experience with hospital-administered drugs and/or oncology products

Strong knowledge of market access, reimbursement, distribution, inventory management, and customer needs for complex therapies

Experience leading office-based, field-based, cross-functional, and external partner teams, including teams that do not report directly to the role

Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and senior-level communication skills

Ability to interpret complex business and financial information and make clear recommendations to senior leaders

Commitment to integrity, inclusion, sound judgment, and compliance

Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge

Master’s degree preferred

S. and global market experience preferred

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is listed. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of the role, job duties/requirements, and relevant education, experience and skills.

Pay Transparency

$300,000 — $325,000 USD
