Working Days: Mon-Fri Working Hours: 17:00 IST to 02:00 IST The Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that helps users understand complex technical products, systems, or processes. This role collaborates closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate technical information into accessible content for a variety of audiences. WHAT YOU’LL DO The Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that helps users understand complex technical products, systems, or processes. This role collaborates closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate technical information into accessible content for a variety of audiences. Day-To-Day Responsibilities: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation—including user manuals, setup guides, API documentation, online help guides, video tutorials, FAQs, and process documentation—to ensure users can easily learn and effectively use software applications. Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and engaging content for both technical and non-technical audiences Collaborate with product managers, developers, and customer support to gather information and ensure accuracy Craft clear, exciting release notes that tell users what bugs were fixed and what new features were added. Review our software’s buttons, menus, and error messages to make sure they use simple, clear language. Create pictures, diagrams, and charts to show users how features work. Organize and structure content in a logical, intuitive manner Review and revise existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability Ensure documentation adheres to company standards, style guides, and branding guidelines Manage documentation projects, timelines, and version control Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback to improve documentation quality Maintain documentation repositories and content management systems Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives. Attend relevant meetings, workshops, and working sessions as required, capturing key discussions, decisions, actions, and outcomes and translating them into clear, structured documentation. Leverage AI tools where appropriate to support efficient notetaking, summarisation, and documentation. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Must-Haves: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field 2-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer or similar role Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts Experience with documentation tools Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Analytical thinking and problem-solving Collaboration and cross-functional teamwork Time management and prioritization Adaptability and continuous learning Attention to detail and accuracy Nice-To-Haves: Experience writing for technical audiences in software, IT, engineering, or related industries Familiarity with Agile or Scrum environments Basic understanding of programming languages or APIs Experience with content management systems (CMS) or documentation platforms Knowledge of UX writing principles or information architecture WHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE Medical benefits, including vision and dental Paid holidays and PTO Enjoyable and dynamic company culture Training and professional development opportunities MORE ABOUT US AVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
