The Research and Experimentation (“R&E”) Tax Credit Senior Analyst II (“Senior Analyst II”) is responsible for assisting clients in identifying and claiming R&E [commonly known as Research and Development (“R&D”)] tax credits and then assisting the R&E Manager in defending those credits, when necessary, in the context of an audit by the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) and/or state tax authorities. The work is project-based and sometimes requires working with engineers and technical personnel. This role includes performing and supervising tasks such as researching tax principles, documenting expense treatment, and completing detailed models and calculations. People:
Leads consulting team members in developing project workplans and scheduling associated project deliverables.
Leads consulting team members in gathering, formatting, and analyzing large volumes of accounting cost data; and creating large complex calculations.

Client:
Works with Federal R&D Tax Credit U.S. colleagues to assist on other tax matters where needed.
Value:
Assists Manager and/or Team Leader in preparing client presentations for proposals, planning strategies, and ideas.
Assist Manager and/or Team/Leader in developing project work plans and scheduling associated project deliverables.
Gathers, formats, and analyzes large volumes of accounting cost data; and creates large complex calculation databases using Microsoft® Excel.
Analyzes expenses for qualification under U.S. Internal Revenue Code (“IRC”) Section 174 and Section 41.
Prepares and reviews R&D credit calculations and deliverables.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any of the following is required:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Commerce /Economics
- Engineering /Technology / Sciences
- Law
- Business Administration
A minimum of three years of R&D tax credit experience required.
Computer Skills:
Must have excellent organization and time management skills, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn and be a team player.
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Internet navigation and legal/technical tax code research tools.
Familiarity with AI-powered technologies and tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other generative AI platforms) to support research, data analysis, content development, and process efficiency is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
Any AI Certifications is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position requires minimal supervisory responsibilities; however, includes training peers and checking work for accuracy and completeness.
Work Environment:
Standard indoor working environment
Occasional long periods of sitting while working at a computer.
Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and interface with external vendors as necessary.
