Lead Engineer– Application Engineering

Are you passionate about designing safety-critical automotive systems that save lives? Join our Engineering team and play a key role in the design and development of Steering Wheel and Airbag systems for passenger vehicles, SUVs, and MUVs.

Lead the design and development of Steering Wheel and Airbag mechanisms.

Create and release 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.

Prepare and manage engineering deliverables including BOM, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, and DVP.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Purchasing, Quality, Testing, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.

Support prototype builds, product validation, and vehicle trials.

Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving using structured methodologies such as 8D/G8D.

Interface with customers and suppliers for technical discussions, trials, and issue resolution.

Represent engineering activities within global teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

Strong experience in the design and development of automotive safety systems, particularly Steering Wheels, Airbags, or similar mechanisms.

Expertise in sheet metal and plastic component design and development.

Hands-on experience with CATIA V5.

Knowledge of PLM tools, preferably Enovia.

Experience in DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, DFM/DFA, and Design Reviews.

Understanding of product testing, validation, and engineering change management.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering.

8-10 years of experience for Engineering Graduates.

10-12 years of experience for Diploma holders.

Prior experience in a Tier-1 automotive supplier environment is highly preferred.
